If you had told me a few years ago where SmartPM would be by the end of 2025, I probably would’ve smiled, nodded, and then immediately started asking how we got there.
Because while growth is something every company hopes for, what really matters is how you grow, and what you learn along the way.
This year was a meaningful one for SmartPM. Not just because of the milestones we reached, but because of what they represented: more teams trusting their schedules, more organizations using data to guide decisions, and more conversations shifting from “what happened?” to “what do we do next?”
As we close out 2025 and get ready to enter SmartPM’s tenth year, it felt like the right time to pause, reflect, and share what this year revealed about the industry, our customers, and where we’re headed.
Your Data Told a Story
At SmartPM, we don’t spend much time guessing. We let the data do the talking. And in 2025, the message was pretty clear: teams are leaning into schedule data in ways we haven’t seen before.
More schedules were analyzed. More insights were reviewed. And more organizations used their schedules as living tools, not static files sitting on a server somewhere.
That showed up in a few ways:
- 70,000+ schedules analyzed across projects worldwide
- More than 50% of the ENR Top 50 are now using SmartPM
- Continued growth across both public and private sector programs
That level of adoption doesn’t happen overnight. It happens when teams see value, trust the insights, and keep coming back because it actually helps them manage work more effectively.
A Milestone Major Milestone: FedRAMP High Authorization
One of the most meaningful steps we took this year was achieving FedRAMP High Authorization.
FedRAMP High Authorization allows SmartPM to support federal agencies directly. But just as importantly, it pushed us to strengthen security, tighten processes, and raise the bar across the entire platform.
It took time. It took focus. And it forced us to be better.
That’s the kind of milestone we’re proud of, not because it sounds impressive, but because it makes the product stronger for everyone who uses it.
A Big Moment for the Industry: The State of Construction Scheduling 2025
This year, we released something we’d been thinking about for a long time: The State of Construction Scheduling 2025.
For years, conversations about scheduling performance have been driven by experience, opinion, and isolated examples. Useful, but incomplete. This report took a different approach.
Using real project data, we looked at how schedules are actually being built, updated, and executed across the industry. Not to point fingers, but to create a clearer baseline for understanding what’s really happening.
You gave us the data. We shared what it revealed.
And based on the response, it’s clear the industry is ready for more transparency, more benchmarking, and more honest conversations about performance.
Where We Met You
While the data tells one part of the story, the conversations tell another.
In 2025, we spent a lot of time on the road:
- 35 trade shows
- 24 cities
- Hundreds of conversations with owners, contractors, and consultants
What stood out most wasn’t just the growth in attendance, but the evolution of the conversations. Teams weren’t just asking what SmartPM does, they were asking how to use schedule data more effectively, how to improve forecasting confidence, and how to have better project conversations with stakeholders who don’t “speak schedule.”
Recognition Along the Way
We were fortunate to receive a number of industry recognitions this year, including being named to the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Private companies, BuiltWorlds Top 50 Project Software, BuiltWorlds PreCon Tech Top 50, joining the Built by Builders network, and earning top ratings on platforms like Capterra and G2.
While we’re proud of these acknowledgements, they ultimately reflect something bigger: customer trust and measurable results in the field.
How Teams Used SmartPM Day to Day
Beyond milestones and recognition, the most important story is how SmartPM actually gets used in the field.
Most-Used Feature: Trends
In 2025, Trends became the most viewed feature on the platform.
That tells us teams aren’t just reacting to issues as they appear, they’re watching patterns, tracking movement, and making decisions with context. Visibility like that changes how teams operate.
Most-Loved New Feature: Delay Analysis
Delay Analysis was the most embraced new feature this year.
Why? Because it helps answer one of the hardest questions on any project: What changed, and why? By simplifying that answer, teams can move from debate to action much faster.
Schedule Updates: More Frequent, More Useful
Updating schedules isn’t always fun. But it’s foundational.
Year after year, SmartPM customers continue to update schedules more frequently than industry norms, and the payoff is real: better forecasts, earlier risk detection, and fewer surprises.
To know where you’re going, you need a clear picture of where you’ve been.
“We use SmartPM to ensure schedules are updated correctly – we have a mandatory requirement of twice monthly. If I see a huge variance from one update to the next, I will check in with the project director to see what’s going on there. At my level, it really helps track everything in one spot.”
- Kerry Lorts, S.M. Wilson
Nine Years In and Looking Ahead
As we close out 2025, SmartPM officially closes out its ninth year, with our tenth right around the corner.
That’s a milestone we don’t take lightly. What started as a belief—that schedules could be clearer, more actionable, and more trusted—has grown into a platform used by some of the most sophisticated teams in the industry.
To our customers, partners, and team: thank you for trusting us, pushing us, and building alongside us.
Here’s to the next decade of building smarter together.
